PAN-OS de Palo Alto: falla CVE-2026-0322 permite ejecutar código como root y ya hay explotación limitadaPalo Alto PAN-OS flaw CVE-2026-0322 allows root code execution and limited exploitation is under way

2026-10-15

Palo Alto Networks published on October 14, 2026 the security advisory for CVE-2026-0322, a code injection vulnerability (CWE-94) in the PAN-OS management interface rated high severity (CVSS 4.0 score of 8.6). An authenticated attacker with network access to that interface can execute arbitrary code with root privileges. The advisory reports very limited exploitation targeting the management interface.

Which products and versions are affected

The flaw affects PA-Series and VM-Series firewalls and Panorama (virtual and M-Series). Cloud NGFW and Prisma Access are not affected. Fixes exist for branches 10.2, 11.1, 11.2, 12.1 and 12.2 (for example 12.2.4 on the 12.2 branch); version 11.2.16 had an estimated release date of October 15. Unsupported versions will not receive a patch and must be migrated.

What to do

  • Upgrade to a fixed version: according to the vendor it is the only full remediation and no workarounds are known.
  • Restrict access to the management interface to trusted internal IPs or a single jump host.
  • For Threat Prevention customers, enabling Threat IDs 510046 and 510047 gives limited coverage (requires SSL decryption).
  • Review management interface access logs for unusual activity.

The operational challenge

Patching a perimeter firewall means maintenance windows, testing and notifying affected teams. For the IT and support team, the patch is a technical task but also a coordination effort: who authorizes it, when it runs and how it is communicated to users.

How this connects with Servigo365

With Servigo365, IT and support teams can log each critical patch as a ticket with an owner, priority and deadline (SLA), link the user requests that arrive through different channels during the maintenance window and keep a history of what was done and when. That order does not replace the patch, but it keeps an urgent update from getting lost among emails and messages.
