Ciberataque a supermercados franceses: hackean controladores Danfoss y suben la temperatura de neveras hasta 50 °CCyberattack on French supermarkets: hijacked Danfoss controllers heat fridges up to 50 °C

2026-10-13

Since the night of October 11, 2026, attackers took control of Danfoss refrigeration controllers in French supermarkets and raised fridge and freezer temperatures up to 50 °C, forcing stores to discard food. CERT-FR issued its alert on October 12 and The Hacker News reported it on the 13th.

What is known

  • Affected devices: AK-SM 800 and AK-SC 355 (older, no longer updated per Danfoss) and some AK-SM 800A units, reportedly on outdated firmware.
  • Stores: at least 300 Intermarché and Netto stores per AFP (about 150 per Reuters), 80 Coopérative U, 80 Carrefour and about 30 Monoprix, plus several E.Leclerc.
  • Attack vector: not established and no CVE linked; CERT-FR has not published indicators of compromise either.

CERT-FR recommendations

Disconnect the controllers or restrict access, avoid internet-exposed management interfaces, limit remote administration to trusted IPs and, on possibly compromised devices, factory reset, apply fixes, change secrets and audit accounts.
