Un enlace compartido de ChatGPT podía ejecutar código en la sesión de la víctima: lo que deben saber los equipos de soporteA shared ChatGPT link could run code in the victim's session: what support teams should know

2026-11-02

Parameter no observó explotación real.

According to The Hacker News (October 31, 2026), Parameter researchers showed that a shared ChatGPT link could run attacker code inside the session of anyone who opened it, with access to their private conversations. OpenAI rated it P1, its most serious category, and fixed it server-side.

What happened

The attacker shared a seemingly normal conversation containing an interactive graph. Rendering it loaded a library that left a message listener open to any origin. Through the preview feature, which runs HTML in a sandboxed frame, the attacker created an unsandboxed frame that the browser treated as part of chatgpt.com, and from there ran code. In the proof of concept, the script listed recent conversations, opened a private chat that had never been shared and sent part of its content to a researcher-controlled server.

Status and recommendations

The report reached OpenAI on October 18; the fix was deployed eight days later and the company paid $5,000 for the finding. Parameter saw no real-world exploitation. Because the fix is server-side, users need not install anything. The link could arrive by email, chat, social media or a support ticket, so distrusting unexpected shared links remains good practice.

What it means for service teams

Many support and IT teams receive links from customers and employees inside tickets and emails every day. Set a clear rule: don't open external links from sessions holding sensitive data, record in the ticket where the link came from, and escalate to security when something looks odd.

That discipline depends on having cases in order. Servigo365 gathers tickets, history and service channels with priorities and SLA, so a suspicious report is traced and escalated to the right team. For branches, Nexturno brings the same order to queues and appointments. Whatever automation decision each company makes, starting from well-organized processes and data is the foundation.
