Chainalysis: la brecha expone credenciales de todos los usuarios y deja fuera de línea KYT y otros serviciosChainalysis: breach exposes all users' credentials and takes KYT and other services offline

2026-11-06

On November 6, 2026, Chainalysis updated its notice about a security incident: according to The Hacker News, the ongoing investigation found that the attack, described as "agentic," also exposed names, usernames, password hashes and live tokens for all users. Days earlier the company had spoken of an "on-path" attack that exposed passwords for a subset of customers; the report does not reconcile the two accounts.

Affected services

  • Access to Reactor and Data Solutions was removed during the investigation and remains offline.
  • The Know Your Transaction (KYT) UI and API, other address-screening products and the login page were also taken down.
  • Affected accounts were locked as a precaution and, for now, password resets are not possible for those who received a reset email.

Chainalysis says it has no evidence that investigations data was accessed or that its attribution data was manipulated, and that the attack vector has been addressed.

What customers must do

To restore KYT and address screening, customers must email [email protected] or their account team to submit trusted IP addresses for an allowlist. After that they can reset passwords and rotate API keys. Every user will have to reset their password and additional protections will be required; customers are also asked to change passwords reused on other systems. The article does not identify the attackers.

The lesson for support and customer service

An outside provider with access to your operations can leave you without a service overnight. It pays to have a plan: who notifies customers, which channel is used, how key rotations are recorded and who follows up on each. Servigo365 lets you open a ticket for each task (reset, rotate, validate) with an owner and SLA, and keep the communication history with customers across all channels; Nexturno does the same for in-person service, so a systems outage does not throw branch queues into disorder.
